  • Artists like the Freestylers and Bentley Rhythm Ace introduce the new sound of FSUK to the scene

  • Danbert Nobacon of Chumbawamba pours a bucket of ice over UK Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott at the 1998 Brit Awards

  • Sash - Mysterious Times hit the number 1 spot in the singles charts

  • Cafe De Paris in London becomes the first club in the world to launch a credit card with a credit limit of up to £25,000

  • First public testing of Ecstasy in the UK outside The Fridge nightclub
